Det Frie Felt's industry day
Holistic perspective and process
Moderator: Laura Allen Müller
Note: The day will be held in DANISH
Times have changed, and previously rigid hierarchical organisational processes are undergoing transformation. There is an increasing focus on community, collaboration and bringing many skills into play in a more decentralised and inclusive universe. How can we work consciously with production and development processes where a value-based mindset and strategy form the basis for action? Meet Danish and international artists and organisations working for change from a holistic perspective. Take part in community exchange and experiences.

Laura Allen Müller
Laura is the moderator at Det Frie Felt's Industry Days.
Laura is an actress, architect and artistic entrepreneur. Laura graduated from DDSKS in 2001 and has since freelanced as a performing artist in most media, genres and production contexts, often with a focus on devising, animation and puppetry. She is committed to system-changing work, including as one of the initiators of the award-winning campaign Et Større Billede (2023), which works to create real diversity in the Danish film and media world. Laura also supports growth and talent development as a mentor, consultant and board member at Filmværksted København. In her architectural practice, she primarily works with space and sculpture.
Julia Wissert
Julia Wissert is a German director and artistic director who works in theatre, musical theatre and film. Since the 2020/21 season, she has been artistic director of Schauspiel Dortmund, where she has a contract until 2030. She has directed at the Maxim Gorki Theatre, the National Theatre Brno, the Oldenburg State Theatre and the Schauspielhaus Bochum, among many other venues. In 2014, she received the Kurt Hübner Directing Award for her production of The Boy at the Door. Wissert has written texts on the subject of structural racism in theatre and wrote her diploma thesis: Black.Power.White: an artistic investigation of structural racism on German-speaking stages (2014). In 2017, lawyer Sonja Laaser and Julia Wissert developed the anti-racism clause. Julia Wissert's productions raise questions about autonomy and empowerment in a society that is perceived as a system. It uses José Esteban Muñoz's idea of utopia, which describes how people behave if they pretend that utopia already exists.
Gitte Nielsen
Egnsteatret is a vibrant hub for performing arts and community. Artistic freedom reigns supreme here. Here, diversity is a strength and community a driving force. We are located in the heart of Vordingborg in the performing arts centre Pavillon K. Our repertoire ranges from the intimate to the monumental – from experimental and sensory performances to visually stunning shows. We work to develop and maintain a local environment where art is present in everyday life and where both new and familiar voices can grow. Until 2023, the local theatre in Vordingborg Municipality was called Cantabile 2.
With new management, the theatre changed its name to Egnsteatret in Vordingborg Kommune in January 2024.
Charlotte Mors
Charlotte is the director of the Performing Arts Platform in Aarhus. With a background as a dramaturge from Aarhus University, she has worked professionally in the Aarhus performing arts community since 1995 – primarily in roles that support the work, opportunities and artistic development of creative performing artists – and that strengthen competence development, relationships and community across the performing arts scene. Performing Arts Platform (PAP) is Aarhus' arts centre for performing arts and is supported by Aarhus Municipality. Its main focus is to support creative performing artists and companies in the independent field, but many activities are also driven by a desire to create development and cohesion throughout the performing arts community through generous knowledge sharing and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Rie Hammer
Rie is editor-in-chief of Development and ISCENE Live. ISCENE is a nationwide, web-based news media outlet covering the performing arts. With professional depth, playful engagement and a news journalism angle, our ambition is to give edge and visibility to the performing arts throughout Denmark. Our goal is to bring the performing arts closer to users and inspire them to seek out the performing arts. ISCENE brings you closer to the performing arts. No matter where you live in the country or whether you are into comedy, musicals, performance art or classical theatre. With ISCENE, you get up close to the artists, behind the scenes and at the forefront of what is happening in the performing arts right now.
Line Svendsen
Line is the artistic director of Du Milde Himmel and chairperson of the artist community Pavillon K. PAVILLON K has two main purposes: to be a gathering place, workplace and development hub for professional performing artists and cross-disciplinary projects. Here, there is access to rehearsal rooms in the local area and shared office space. Pavillon K is a house where artists produce, share knowledge and inspire each other. The second purpose is to organise public events for audiences, as well as to develop and cultivate a talent and growth layer for the performing arts. The events can be festivals, open performances of performing arts productions, storytelling salons, workshops, performing arts productions, and vernissages. Pavillon K holds a number of open residencies for external artists each year.
Anika Barkan
Anika Barkan is co-founder of MØR collective. MØR collective is an international performing arts community that works with socially engaged art projects. Their goal is to create accessible works that resonate with audiences, broaden their perspectives, and train their empathetic compass and engagement with the contemporary world. MØR collective was founded by Anika Barkan, Mika Forsling & Cille LansadeAnika, Mika, and Cille began their collaboration in 2017 in CoreAct's project. SAVN. MØR collective functions as a platform for artistic co-creation. The collective process is a cornerstone, which means that the artists involved in a project are part of the collective for the duration of their involvement in the project. In their upcoming projects, they will collaborate with Katrina Neiburga, Petter Wadsten, Abelone Koppel, Troels Jensen, Raya Ziada & Ghazal Ramsani.
Ar Utke Acs
Ar Utke Ács (They/Them) works and organises as an artist within contemporary dance and an expanded understanding of choreography. They are part of the Dance Cooperative in Copenhagen, where they have, among other things, co-organised the network meetings Working within Work for Nordic self-organising groups working with dance. In their art, they work with the poetics and politics of the body at the seams of performance, text, installation, social choreographies and the imaginary. They are particularly interested in counter-hegemonic strategies and organising from queer and crip perspectives. Ar has a BA in Dance Performance from Stockholm University of the Arts (SE). They have co-produced works in collaboration with Dansehallerne, MDT (SE) and BIT Teatergarasjen (NO) and presented their work in contexts such as Baltic Circle (FI), Oktoberdans (NO), Open Out/Tromsø Kunstforening (NO), Index Art Foundation (SE) and Charlottenborg (DK). In addition, their texts have been published in publications such as Koreografisk Journal (SE), Performance and Care Work (DK) and Shared Risk (DK). Previously, Ar has also been organised in Sweden, as part of running Höjden Studios in Stockholm, on the board of the artist cooperative Interim Kultur and as part of the activist group Queers Against Fascism.
Signe Brink Wehl
Signe is the artistic director of the Roskilde Festival. The Roskilde Festival brings art into play in alternative ways and engages in experimental experiences and creative communities. The festival creates courses and projects with artists and partners that, as far as possible, give the artistic idea and method a broad platform and more and larger spaces for reflection, where art can be communicated widely and make an impression on the world. The collective and collaborative process is an important prerequisite for achieving this and for creating a broad and nuanced experience with diverse expressions and broad representation of different artists and actors with a contemporary spirit. This also means that it is essential for the festival to work on the basis of curatorial principles and ethical frameworks that reflect the values of the Roskilde Festival Group.
The seven curatorial principles are:
- THE REGENERATIVE
- THE AWAKE AND ACTIVISTIC
- THE ENGAGING
- THE PROGRESSIVE AND INTERDISCIPLINARY
- THE SURPRISING
- THE REPRESENTATIVE COMMUNITIES
- THE CARING COMMUNITIES
