Olivier Award-winning choreographer Botis Seva and his powerful company Far From The Norm are behind the festival's indoor opening performance BLKDOG, bringing a specially curated workshop to the Danish dance scene.
In this session, led by core artists from Far From The Norm, you will be pushed to your limits and introduced to the company's signature style, which is a dynamic mix of dance styles such as krump, house, popping, afro and hip-hop. Victoria and Larissa will put a stronger focus on popping, modern dance and movements inspired by krump and house. Founded in May 2009 in a youth club in Dagenham, London, by then 19-year-old artistic director Botis Seva, hip hop dance company Far From The Norm is a collective of artists known for experimenting with hip hop and contemporary practices. It was, and still is, a collective of creatives committed to innovation, moving in a different way to what was considered the norm. They challenge perceptions of hip hop and create work that empowers marginalised people. All of their work is original, vital and fearless, inviting debate on socio-political issues and the modern world. Find out more about Far from the Norm here: https://www.farfromthenorm.com/
