WAKE UP! / Paolo Nani Theatre

WAKE UP! is a humorous, poetic and surreal journey into the borderland of dreams.

A woman with a seemingly normal life is confronted night after night with a chaotic, mysterious figure that challenges her safe everyday life. What does she fear the most - and what does she deep down want? In Paolo Nani Theatre's rich and colourful wordless universe, we follow two souls on a journey to find and release their longings and hidden potential. 

WAKE UP! is a co-production between Paolo Nani Theatre & Egnsteatret in Vordingborg Municipality, and is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen Foundation and the William Demant Foundation. WAKE UP! had its world premiere at WAVES Festival 2025.

Paolo Nani Theatre is an ensemble founded in 1995 by pioneering Italian performer and director Paolo Nani, who for more than two decades has combined humour, poetry and physical theatre in a unique idiom.
We are fortunate that Paolo Nani Theatre has made Vordingborg its base and is therefore a natural part of Egnsteatret's activities.
