You can experience this when The house where I live invites you to a very special storytelling concert.
Here you get a different experience, combining music, poetry, and reflection in a way you rarely see. It is both whimsical, honest, and perhaps even funny – and at the same time an important contribution to the current conversation about overthinking and mental well-being.
What if I had a house inside my head?
In ‘The House Where I Live’, the audience is invited inside a person's mind. You meet both the inner child in the nursery and the dark caretaker down in the coal cellar – and many of the other voices that chatter away inside all of our heads.
It is the award-winning actor Jens Andersen who takes the audience on a musical journey through the mind's many rooms – accompanied by musicians Sune Skulbøll Vraa and Benjamin Barfod.
In a special soundscape with guitars and rare percussion instruments, creating moods and rhythms, the words unfold into a poetic and musical universe. The music is co-narrative and touches us on an unconscious level, also functioning as soothing mini-meditations between the tales.
After the concert, Jens Andersen invites the audience for a discussion about the inner voices and thoughts we all know – and how to create peace and awareness in a world that storms ahead.
We are at a crucial historical moment where we need to meet each other (and ourselves) as fallible, vulnerable and poetic beings, full of thoughts that we need to share.
In conjunction with the performance, there will also be a book release for the book "Huset hvor jeg bor" by Jens Andersen, where the texts can be read alongside Jens' wonderful and quirky drawings.
The performance takes place on the evening of Pavillon K's 5th anniversary, and therefore admission is free. Just turn up.

A strong artistic team
Jens Andersen: Words and Guitar
Although Jens is an actor, the guitar has always been a constant companion.
He graduated in 1995 and has appeared in a multitude of revues, TV series, films and more than 50 plays at the Royal Danish Theatre, Østre Gasværk, Bellevue and others.
In 2010, he received a Bodil statuette for his performance in Ole Bornedal's film 'Free Us From Evil'.
He has performed at storytelling concerts with, among others, the Storstrøm Chamber Ensemble and several symphony orchestras, and writes poetry, prose and scripts.
Sune Skulbøll Vraa
Musician, actor and composer.
Graduated in 2004 from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus – Drums and Production.
Has appeared in and composed music for a wide range of theatre productions.
Played more than 600 concerts at home and abroad with the group; “Body Rhythm Factory”.
Won the 2013 YAMA (Young Audience Music Award) for Best Concert Production in the World.
Toured the world extensively with STOMP until 2016.
Working concurrently as a producer for LMS (Live Music in Schools)
Benjamin Barfod: Percussion
Benjamin grew up in a world steeped in jazz, has undertaken extended travels in India and Africa, and plays a wide array of unique percussion instruments such as the HANG, kalimba, gongs, waterphone and many more. He has performed concerts throughout Denmark, both as a solo artist and with his own band, and has appeared as a guest musician with artists including Alex Riel, Palle Mikkelborg, Pierre Dørge, Clarice Assad, Mathias Heise and Bjarke Falgren.
