REWILDING ROOTS

A forest performance about your inner landscape

Come with us as we wander from the rhythm of civilisation into the deeper pulse of the forest.

Guided through the forest by two performers, participants move together, listening, observing, and responding to the landscape through simple invitations and shared actions. Equipped with wireless headphones, the forest becomes both stage and co-creator, where the boundaries between the inner and outer slowly dissolve.

Invited by the poetic soundscape and subtle interactions, a. 

With parallels drawn between family trees and the forest's root system, the work explores the invisible connections that nourish and shape us. Beneath the surface, trees reach out to one another through hidden roots. In the same way, we are connected to one another and to those who came before us.

The journey is both personal and collective – a movement from control to surrender, from tamed paths to wild traces.

In the woods, the external landscape becomes an internal one – a place where the invisible connections between nature, heritage, and the self begin to emerge.

Saturday, 29 August at 4 p.m. is the premiere of the performance. After the performance, there will be bubbles and some snacks/light refreshments and a premiere reception in the woods. 

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Siri Haff Andersen and Sara Vilardo are two performers whose work unites theatre, movement, and immersive experiences. Andersen is the artistic director of Sanseværk and a former core member of Cantabile 2, with over 20 years of experience creating poetic, sensory performances for all ages. Sara is the artistic director of the company LAVA/Sara Vilardo and specialises in immersive, site-specific, and participatory projects such as the currently touring Siren.

Together they have created and performed What's alive (2022) and Are we us (2024), where they explore presence, identity, and human connections through interactive, multi-sensory storytelling. Their collaborations transform the theatre into a shared space, where performers and audiences meet and create imaginative, sensory, and thought-provoking moments. Their works tour nationally and internationally, uniting poetic vision, physical presence, and audience engagement.

PLEASE NOTE:

The performance includes both Danish and English speech. You can experience the performance even if you don't understand one of the two languages, but you will then miss the linguistic content in the sections with the language in question.

We move around the forest at times in challenging terrain, so you need to be a good walker for the performance to be a good experience. 

Dress in clothing that can withstand being outdoors and close to nature. Preferably, wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. 
Please park on the guest parking, which is on your right.
