When Vordingborg is hit by big waves of international performing arts, it must of course ripple out to the schools, to our children and young people. Schools in three municipalities receive Waves performances that play in schoolyards and gymnasiums. The students get a unique performance experience with international performing arts as part of their school day.
17 schools in the municipalities of Vordingborg, Faxe and Lolland will experience international performing artists who inspire children to use their bodies, objects and imagination in new ways. Many children have never been to the theatre, and the performances open the door to a new and bigger world.
Regional lighthouse for children and young people's encounter with international performing arts
For a number of years now, WAVES Festival has extended its reach beyond the municipal boundaries and has had a permanent collaboration with the municipalities of Faxe and Lolland, which thus have a continuous connection to the festival. This fits well with WAVES Festival's ambition to be a beacon for children and young people's encounter with international performing arts.
