Mirage is a journey through pain and joy, war and love - and a celebration with music and dance as a language that speaks to us of courage, hope and community. As a tribute to celebration and community, we are gripped by their infectious, positive joie de vivre, where the dancers' punch to the ground hits us right in the heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through Dyptik's powerful hip-hop-based dance, the 8 dancers are very close to us, from the centre of the party right in the middle of the audience. They use the circular shape of the stage as a playful device: music, voices and bodies flow in from all sides, creating diverse and sometimes contradictory experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The performance is inspired by life in the Balata refugee camp in the West Bank, where the children learnt Dabkeh, a traditional, energetic folk dance, in the hope of a better future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
